Critical Landscapes

Minnesota is big.  With approximately 50 million acres of land and 10 million acres of lakes, rivers and streams, we focus our efforts in places where threat and need intersect. We call these places critical landscapes. They were selected using the goals and data of numerous state and regional conservation plans.  While we often work outside these landscapes, they provide a way to concentrate our efforts and resources to maximize the public benefit of our work. Within each landscape, the Land Trust will further prioritize specific sites and tracts of land which are the most valuable and opportunistic conservation opportunities.
