Engage
For our state’s natural and scenic heritage to endure, the Minnesota Land Trust recognizes we must invest in the future of conservation even as we are protecting land today. In years to come, if there no longer is a culture of conservation, if funding and laws no longer support land and water protection, and if there is not sufficient capacity and expertise to deliver conservation—decades of great conservation work will be lost.
Therefore, the Minnesota Land Trust will initiate projects to reconnect Minnesotans to the great outdoors, support legislation and funding proposals favorable to conservation or oppose those that are not, and help train the conservation leaders of tomorrow.
Already, through our educational programs we have trained hundreds of conservation professionals, planners and others to improve Minnesota’s future. On average, every year the Minnesota Land Trust speaks at 30 events or seminars, reaching 2,000 individuals interested in conservation. Moreover, our semi-annual Conservation Summit has attracted several hundred conservation professionals who are interested in improving their knowledge and expertise.
