Mark van der Linden joined the Minnesota Land Trust in October 2014 as Stewardship & Baseline Project Associate. In this capacity he implemented the organization’s Stewardship Enhancement Program (STEP). In November 2017, Mark transitioned into his current role as Conservation Associate, where he prepares baseline documentation reports for new land protection projects and assists with a variety of other aspects of the land protection and stewardship programs.

Prior to joining the Land Trust, Mark worked for the Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy in North Carolina and spent several years as a coordinator at Conservation Corps MN & IA in St. Paul. Mark has a B.A. in Political Science from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA with a focus on sustainable international development, and also studied ecology at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory in Milford, IA. Mark is an Appalachian Trail Thru-Hiker and enjoys every opportunity to be outside that he can manage. Mark is based out of the Land Trust’s St. Paul office and can be reached at 651-917-6283 or at
