Peregrines lay eggs!

The Great Spirit Bluffs peregrine falcons have successfully produced three eggs!  Their nesting box is located on Land Trust-protected property near LaCrescent, Minnesota.  As we mentioned in an earlier post, the landowners erected a nesting-box camera giving us an up-close look.  The eggs should start hatching 33-34 days after the third egg is laid. This means their eggs should be hatching around May 2nd-3rd.

Afterwards, around the end of May, the chicks will be banded by Bob Anderson and his team from the Raptor Resource Project.  To see mama peregrine "Michelle" incubating her eggs, click here.
