Notable Projects
In 1993 Minnesota Land Trust completed its first project - 80 acres of scenic farmland in Washington County. Since then, the Trust has completed 384 projects protecting more than 54 square miles. Historic wilderness retreat: Review Islands on Rainy Lake, including Mallard Island, home of conservationist Ernest Oberholtzer for more than 50 years. Habitat corridors: This 165-acre easement is part of a larger habitat complex, and protects about a quarter-mile of Snake River shoreline. Securing the future: The Hinze Family protected 240 acres with an easement in Pine County. Waterfowl habitat: An easement in Otter Tail County will preserve more than a square mile of land, including significant shoreline on Lake Emma. |
