Notable Projects

In 1993 Minnesota Land Trust completed its first project - 80 acres of scenic farmland in Washington County. Since then, the Trust has completed 384 projects protecting more than 54 square miles. Follow the links below to learn about other notable easements.

Historic wilderness retreat: Review Islands on Rainy Lake, including Mallard Island, home of conservationist Ernest Oberholtzer for more than 50 years.

Habitat corridors: This 165-acre easement is part of a larger habitat complex, and protects about a quarter-mile of Snake River shoreline.

Securing the future: The Hinze Family protected 240 acres with an easement in Pine County.

Waterfowl habitat: An easement in Otter Tail County will preserve more than a square mile of land, including significant shoreline on Lake Emma.
